Guests

Thank you for worshiping with us this morning. Services are usually one hour in length where we sing, give confession of our faith, receive absolution, and hear God’s life-giving word. Kids activities are available at the back of the sanctuary for the service, and a special sermon time for 3 years to 3rd grade.

Zion has a Nursery (lower first-floor level, across from the bathrooms) with the current service broadcasted live ona television in the room. It is staffed bya worker during the 10:30 a.m. service.

All of life is stewardship. We are always choosing how to use resources God gives us, such as time, abilities, energy, and yes, money. As God gives to us, we give back to God out of thanksgiving. In the Bible people gave at least a tithe (10%), but we are certainly free to give more to God’s work and to others. The ministry at Zion is completely funded by your generous giving. Offerings are received on the table in the back of the sanctuary or online at zionholland.org/give. Guests, please do not feel pressured to give today.

Holy Communion | Celebrated on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month
Scripture teaches that The Lord’s Supper is a gift from God in which Jesus gives us His true body and blood, together with this bread and wine, for the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith. Where there is forgiveness of sins, there is also life and salvation. At the Table we are united with God and united with fellow believers in Jesus. At Zion, instruction leading to partaking in Communion occurs in sixth grade. If you are accustomed to a different practice, hold other beliefs, or have not been instructed regarding the Lord’s Supper, the Pastor or Elder would be glad to talk with you. If you would prefer to not commune today but still receive a blessing, you may come forward with your hands crossed across your
chest.

Consider these questions to help you prepare to receive the Lord’s Supper:
1. Am I sorry for my sins?
2. Do I trust in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection for my forgiveness and salvation?
3. Do I want to live the life of faith in Jesus and work towards unity in His church?
